# BuddyX BuddyNext

Here is a simple overview of how our products work together:

**BuddyX** is the WordPress theme that controls your website’s appearance and layout. You can use the free version or upgrade to [BuddyX Pro](https://wbcomdesigns.com/downloads/buddyx-pro-theme) for additional design and integration features.

**BuddyNext** provides the core community features, such as member profiles, activity streams, groups, private messages and notifications: [BuddyNext](https://wbcomdesigns.com/downloads/buddynext/)

Each plugin is designed to work independently, so you do not need to install all of them. You can start with only the features your website currently requires and add more later as your community grows.

The plugins are available in free and/or Pro versions, depending on the product. The free versions are not trials; where available, they can be used on a live website without a time limit. Pro upgrades are sold separately, so purchasing one Pro plugin does not automatically include the Pro versions of the others.

For example, you could start with BuddyX and BuddyNext, then add Eventonomy if you need events or Learnomy if you later want to offer courses. This lets you build your website gradually without paying for features you do not need yet.
