WooCommerce and marketplace questions we get a lot

Can I use SumUp, or another payment provider?

Yes, if that provider has a WooCommerce gateway plugin. Payment processing is WooCommerce's domain, not the theme's - our themes style whatever checkout WooCommerce renders, but they cannot add or remove payment methods.

Get the gateway plugin from the payment provider, install it, and configure it under WooCommerce settings. It works the same on Reign, BuddyX or any other theme.

I want the shop and store pages, but not the demo content

Skip the demo import. Templates come from the theme and add-on. The demo only adds sample products and pages so you can see what a finished site looks like.

Does the theme include Dokan or WCFM?

No. Those are separate products from their own vendors. The theme and its add-on style and integrate them - they do not replace them. See Setting up a multi-vendor marketplace.

Can I change fonts, colours and skins?

Yes. Both themes have their own customiser options for typography, colours and layout. Reign's are documented under Customize at https://reigntheme.com/docs/ and BuddyX's at https://buddyxtheme.com/docs/

BuddyPress, BuddyBoss, PeepSo or BuddyNext - which should you use?

This decision shapes everything else, so it is worth ten minutes now.

BuddyPress

The original. Open source, free, maintained by the WordPress community, huge plugin ecosystem. Most of our add-ons target it. Pick it if you want the widest choice of extensions and no platform licence.

BuddyBoss Platform

A fork of BuddyPress, maintained by the BuddyBoss team. It shares BuddyPress roots, so much of the BuddyPress ecosystem works with it - but it diverges over time, and their theme and app are commercial products on their own pricing.

Our themes work with BuddyBoss. If something breaks inside the BuddyBoss theme itself, that is their code and their support team.

PeepSo

A separate community plugin with its own architecture. Some of our products support it explicitly - check the product page.

BuddyNext

Our own engine: profiles, activity, spaces, messaging, notifications. Free. It is not a BuddyPress plugin and not a fork, so BuddyPress add-ons do not automatically work with it.

It is the foundation our newer products bridge into - Jetonomy, Eventonomy, Learnomy, Listora, WP Career Board, Mediaverse, WB Gamification and others.

Pick it if you want a modern engine built alongside the plugins you will run on it. Check add-on compatibility first if you depend on specific BuddyPress extensions.

What our support covers, and what needs a developer

What support covers

The product not behaving as documented
Installation, activation and configuration questions
Licence, account and billing matters
Compatibility questions about the platforms we officially support
Bug reports, including regressions after an update

What falls outside it

Custom CSS and design changes beyond the product's own settings. We will often hand you a snippet as a courtesy, but maintaining it is not something support can own.
Custom PHP, hooks and template overrides. We document our hooks and REST endpoints; writing against them is development work.
Third-party products. If the issue is inside another vendor's theme or plugin, they are better placed to fix it. For BuddyBoss theme issues specifically, BuddyBoss support is the right destination — BuddyBoss is a fork of BuddyPress maintained by their team.
Free-plugin customisation. Support for free products covers the product working as documented, not bending it to a specific build.
Site-wide problems not caused by our product — hosting, server configuration, unrelated conflicts.

Finding and activating your licence key

Where your key is

Sign in at https://wbcomdesigns.com/my-account/ and open the Licenses tab. Each product has its own key.

Activating

In WordPress, go to the product's settings screen, paste the key into the licence field and save. The status should change to Active.

When activation fails

Three causes account for nearly all of it:

The site URL does not match. A licence is bound to the domain it was activated on. example.com and www.example.com can count as different sites, as can http and https. Check what WordPress reports under Settings, then General.

You have hit the activation limit. Your licence covers a set number of sites, and staging and development copies count toward that limit. If you have cloned a site, the clone may have silently consumed an activation. Deactivate the key on sites you no longer use, from the Licenses tab.

The licence has expired. Check the expiry date on the Licenses tab. Renew to reactivate.

Moving a licence to a different site

Deactivate it on the old site first, either from the plugin's settings screen or from the Licenses tab in your account, then activate on the new one.
